Preparation
FOR ALL SHOOTS
WHAT TO BRING
Makeup: Lip-gloss, mascara, concealer, makeup remover wipes, etc.
Hair accessories (Hairbrush, hair tie, brush, etc.) These will be useful to control the flyaway hairs.
Multiple outfit options. Feel free to bring more than needed, you never know what options you'd end up loving!
HAIR/MAKEUP
Makeup needs to be as natural and as minimal as possible! You can always bring your makeup with you and we can add more if needed.
Make sure your makeup matches your skin tone and to pick natural shades of makeup for your shoot. (You can bring a fun lipstick color to put on if you want some shots with a bold lip)
Hair should be styled to it's best! If you get your hair colored or cut please schedule your shoot with me a week after your haircut, that way it has time to settle. This is normally when the color and cut looks its best!
TREAT YOURSELF
Take care of your skin before your shoot. Drink plenty of water, do your full skin care routine, and moisturize!
Make sure to plan ahead for a full night's rest and time to relax and eat before your session
Treat yourself to getting your nails or hair done. You should feel fresh and confident for your new shots!
HEADSHOTS
We want to do everything necessary to bring focus to your face and prepare you for your professional headshot!
WHAT TO WEAR
Bring multiple well fitted solid colored t-shirts that compliment your complexion and your eyes! If you wanted to bring some patterns or a fun jacket, I would love to try some out. If you need assistance, I would love to go through what you have to help find the best options for our shoot!
Avoid low cut tops and try to wear undergarments that are easily tucked away to avoid visibility in pictures.
If you are looking for corporate headshots, bring professional work outfits, button-ups, blazers, ties, jackets, etc.
COUPLE SESSION
WHAT TO WEAR
Pick outfits that compliment each other and are of similar dress codes!
Think about your location when picking your outfits. Your outfits are going to look different for a shoot in the city compared to a shoot in the mountains.
Some couples who are taking engagement photos, have picked to wear the accent colors of their wedding. Talk to your partner and plan what clothing choices you want to make together!
If you need any assistance before your shoot, reach out to me and I would be happy to help or send you some inspiration pictures!
SENIOR PHOTOS
WHAT TO WEAR
Wear something that you feel confident in! This is your senior year and you deserve to feel proud of yourself for the work you have accomplished.
Try to pair your outfit with your cap and gown, this ensures you'll like the pictures with them both pictured together! If you have cords, the many different color options may only look best against certain colors. Try everything on together, and make sure it's to your satisfaction!
Heels are welcome, but make sure to bring easily slipped on flats for walking around, you'd be surprised how fast your feet can start hurting during a shoot!
WHAT ELSE TO BRING
Bring your cap and Gown, plus any cords/stools you may have!
Any merchandise from your chosen college will look great in the shoot!
CREATIVE SHOOTS
WHAT TO PLAN!
Creative shoots are loads of fun, but in order to prepare the shoot I have to have an idea of what you are looking for.
What helps many of my clients with planning a creative shoot is creating a Pinterest board! This will help you plan what outfit would compliment your shoot, what hair and makeup would look amazing with your ideas, and the location we need to find to pull everything together. Leave your Pinterest board link in the comment sections under my contact form.
If you know you want to try something fun, but don't have any ideas, you can reach out to me and I can plan something fun for us to do!
